Selectmen's Minutes - March 5, 1991

Mr. Vess moved, 2nd Fasci, Board voted 4-0 to permit the Council of Churches, Gordon Carr requesting, permission for their Annual Sunrise Service on Town Hall Grounds, March 31, 1991.

Deferred appointment of Treasurer/Collector until March 19, 1991.

Mr. Vess moved, 2nd Crowley, 4-0 vote to accept with regret resignation of John Dexter from the Recreation Commission.

On request of Recreation Commission, granted request for one day common victualer license for Recreation Commission for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turle Pizza Party, March 6, 1991 at 4:00 p.m. at Camp Kiwanee.  Motion Vess, 2nd Fasci.

Scheduled pole hearing for one (1) joint pole location on Baker St. at request of Eastern Edison for March 26 at 7:30 p.m.  Abutters will be notified.

Mr. Vess read letter on siting of airport received from Plymouth Board of Selectmen.  Letter of response will be set to Governor Weld regarding the Mass. Aeronautical Assoc. lack of comment and public input in this process.  Mr. Vess made motion, 2nd Fasci, vote 4-0.

Board would schedule the Police and Fire Chiefs for attendance at next week's meeting.  Fire on implementation of new contract and Police on his plan of action.

Polled Board on entered Executive Session under #3, contract negotiations and potential litigation.  

Reentered regular session and reported that the Board voted to amend Mr. Nugent's contract to reflect a 5% increase the first year, 5% the second year with a wage opener the third year.  They also explained to people the clause under each compensation paragraph that the contract is subject to Town Meeting funding.  This was a 4-0 vote with first by Crowley, 2nd Fasci.
